The environmentally safe and in the same time economically affective treatment of municipal waste is a worldwide technical challenge. The morphology of the mixed municipal waste is diverse and variable in time. It depends on variety of factors, such as demographics, socio-economical and climatic specialties of the region, which generates the waste.
The System Theseus is an adaptive tool for complex management of municipal waste on a city scale. What Theseus offers is a different point of view – the waste not as a problem but as a precious resource. Theseus is an automated high tech system, which treats municipal waste and turns them into useful products and so it practically prevents entirely the need of landfills.
The treatment of waste in the system is harmless to the environment, as no flows of wastewaters or hazardous gaseous emissions are created. The waste undergoes series of mechanical processes during which different fractions of recyclable and recoverable materials are generated in complete conformity with the national and European legislation.
